Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson legally changed his name to Chad Javon Ocho Cinco, Friday, August, 29, 2008 in Broward County, Florida. Two years ago Johnson gave himself the nickname Ocho Cinco in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month and in reference to the Spanish pronunciation of the number 85. He put Ocho Cinco on the back of jersey during warm-ups before the Atlanta Falcons game in ‘06. Quarterback Carson Palmer ripped the label off Ocho Cinco’s jersey to reveal the usual “C. Johnson.” Ocho Cinco was fined $5,000 by the NFL. I don’t know why Ocho Cinco’s attracting all this attention. He’s hurt and the season hasn’t even started yet. In the second pre-season game he landed awkwardly and temporarily dislocated his left shoulder. Ocho Cinco is wearing a harness and expects to start in the season opener against the Baltimore Ravens.
