A magnitude 4.0 earthquake hit the east side of Oakland, California at around 9 p.m. ET, Friday according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The earthquakes epicenter was about 10 miles below the earth's surface. Residents of the Bay Area said that they felt the sharp jolts and saw plants sway and satellite dishes rattle on neighbor’s roofs. There were no initial reports of damages or causalities.
